Wales Props Front Pre Match Hospitality

Graham Price and Ian Stephens Take Front Row Before Wales Play France

On Saturday 17th March, Wales play France in the final game of the 2018 Six Nations.  Prior to the game at the Principality Stadium, Legends Hospitality is holding a rugby lunch with former British & Irish Lions and Wales prop forwards, Graham Price and Ian ‘Ike’ Stephens.

Graham Price is a Wales rugby legend.  He played 41 times for Wales, mostly as part of the famous “Viet Gwent” Pontypool front row with Bobby Windsor and Charlie Faulkner.  He also played in 12 successive tests for the British and Irish Lions, a record for a prop forward and 3rd on the all-time list of most capped players.  He toured New Zealand in 1977, South Africa in 1980, and returned to New Zealand in 1983.

Graham-PriceGraham made his Wales debut in the 1975 Five Nations Championship against France at the Parc des Princes in Paris, scoring a famous try after running nearly the whole length of the field.  It was one of two tries he scored in a eight year Wales career.  It will be interested to hear how Graham remembers one of the most popular Wales tries of all-time.

Bridgend RFC prop Ian ‘Ike’ Stephens played 13 times for Wales and toured twice with the British and Irish Lions.  Ian was a revered loosehead at the Brewery Field.  He toured with the British and Irish Lions alongside Graham Price in South Africa in 1980 and picked up his one and only test cap in the tour to New Zealand in 1983.

Rory Lawson and Alix Popham Predictions Proved Wrong

Past Internationals Foresaw A Tight Wales vs Scotland Test

The extent of the Wales 34-7 victory against Scotland (Six Nations, 3rd February 2018) surprised even past internationals.  Both Rory Lawson and Alix Popham predicted tight scorelines, although the winner was very much dependent on your nationality!

Former Wales back row Alix Popham and former Scotland scrum half Rory Lawson were speaking at the Legends Hospitality pre-match event held at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Cardiff.  It was great to hear about their rugby career highlights and also their thoughts on the opening game of the 2018 Six Nations.

A selection of photos from the event can be seen below with a more extensive selection available to view on the Paul Fears Photography website.
