Must Win Game for Wales Against Argentina

Pressure Mounts for Wales Rugby

Last week’s test match against Australia was humbling for Wales.  The Wallabies dominated nearly every aspect of the game.  So where do Wales go from here?

On Saturday 12th November 2016, Wales welcome Argentina to Cardiff.  Since the first capped test match between the two sides in 1991, 15 games have been played with 5 won by Argentina and 10 by Wales.

In recent test matches played during the Autumn series, the honours are shared, with Wales winning the last test match 40-6 in 2013 and Argentina taking the spoils 26-12 in 2012.

The match on Saturday will be a real test.

Since 2013, Argentina has joined the Southern Hemisphere’s Rugby Championship.  This year they beat South Africa 26-24 at home and in the other games played well enough to earn plaudits from around the rugby world.  They are hard and uncompromising, but have also developed a flair that has seen them excel in recent world cups.

For Wales, there has been a lot of head scratching.  The performances of the summer in New Zealand won praise despite defeat, but those memories were washed away when the Wallaby slayed the Dragon.  What went wrong?  Were Warburton and Alun-Wyn missed that much?

The pride of the Wales team is wounded.  They know that they failed to perform.  Saturday provides the opportunity to set the record straight.
